Nerissa N. Nordquist is a Twin Cities-based playwright and lyricist. She is the collaborating librettist for Crack On! (Oh What a Lovely Afghan War) with the BBC’s Jack Pizzey. Crack On! had its first workshop at the Guildford School of Acting at the University of Surrey in England and is slated for its second workshop later this year. Currently, she is the librettist and co-lyricist (with composer Dan Solovitz) for the new comedic musical Night & Day.
A graduate of the film program at Augsburg College, a member of the Dramatists Guild and the Playwrights’ Center, Nerissa has always been firmly rooted in her drive to create for the stage. Her passion for musical theater has been enhanced via twenty-six years as a stage choreographer for various community theaters in the Midwest.
Nerissa’s first libretto, I Would Do Anything For Love, a jukebox musical for the music of Jim Steinman, had its first read-through at Theater NOW in 2013. Her one-act play, Leakage: A Poetic Meltdown was staged at Mixed Blood Theatre, Southern Theater, and Open Book as part of the 2007 Minnesota Fringe Festival.
