Dan Solovitz Bio

Dan Solovitz is active as a composer across the entertainment spectrum, having produced thousands of pieces for recording artists, television, and film. His approach to creating music stems from an immersive musical background and a unique tailored skill set. Raised in Minneapolis as a multi-instrumentalist from his youth, Dan is classically trained as a percussionist and composer, yet has always focused on the role technology can play in creating new sounds. He began his career as a programmer and engineer in Los Angeles and has since branched out as a full-service composer/producer into the broader media world.

Dan has penned musical signatures for clients such as Porsche, Converse, Merck, Corona, Sony, and Target, including composing the music for three Super Bowl ads.  He’s produced dozens of albums for recording artists ranging from folk to aggressive EDM. Artist work includes mixing for Michael Bolton, award-winning remixing for Tommy Lee, scoring short films for digital media artist Jonathan Thunder, as well as a number of Billboard-charting dance tracks.

Having branched into composing for musical theater in 2014 with the BBC’s Jack Pizzey’s show Crack On! (Oh What a Lovely Afghan War), he is now working on the music for the new comedic musical Night & Day with Nerissa N. Nordquist. Striving to bring pop music together with stage viability, Dan is working to put audience members on the edge of their seats.
