About Me

Hi! I’m Nerissa Nordquist, a Twin Cities-based playwright, lyricist, theater choreographer, author, blogger, and collage/decollage artist. I love musical theater; creating musicals is innately a part of who I am.

Currently, I’m the librettist and co-lyricist (with composer Dan Solovitz) for the new comedic musical Night & Day.

I am a collaborating librettist for Crack On! (Oh What a Lovely Afghan War) with Jack Pizzey of the BBC. Crack On! had its first workshop at the Guildford School of Acting at the University of Surrey and is slated for its second workshop later this year.

A graduate of the film program at Augsburg College, and a member of the Dramatists Guild and the Playwrights’ Center, I have always been firmly rooted in my drive to create for the stage. My passion for musical theater has been enhanced by twenty-six years as a stage choreographer for various community theaters in the Midwest.

My first libretto, I Would Do Anything For Love, a jukebox musical for the music of Jim Steinman, had its first read-through at Theater NOW in 2013. My one-act play, Leakage: A Poetic Meltdown, was staged at Mixed Blood Theatre, Southern Theater, and Open Book as part of the 2007 Minnesota Fringe Festival.
